Johnny Nero on Bass

What Is Your Real Name:-Darren Reeve

How old are you? Late 30's (was a 70's child- break dancing,
bmx bikes, bowers roller skates.. been there done that!)

What gear do you use?I play a Fender 24 fret 4 string Jazz Bass,
through a Bass Limiter then onto a Bass distortion peddle
(both made by BOSS) this runs into a Mark Bass SD 800
Head(awesome unit!!!) and the sound is then pushed through
a Mark Bass 104HF cabinet which sends out the serious low
tones which if turned onto to volume 8 could send your heart
on a long vacation ( so I tend to keep it around volume 4 on
big gigs and volume 2 for the small venues, I don't want to
blow the windows out do I ?)

Your influeces...Linkin Park, Red Hot Chilies, Kaiser chiefs
and most Funk and Soul bands.

Funniest gig moment? Too many to mention, every gig is
funny with Uploaded - best memory was being gaffa taped up
during one of the songs we perform... It took four minutes for
the drummer to release me, I am no David Blaine lol

Worst gig moment? Jumping of the stage and breaking my
wireless kit - managed to catch it on the photographers camera box, it ment I was stuck on stage attached to a bloody lead and
could not run around ... totally gutted was I ....

When did you join the band? I formed the band with Gary back
in 2006, it all started with an advert on party sounds, new band looking for Drummer, guitar player, bassplayer and singer... The rest is history

And another thing........
Am the Plumber for ITV's 60 minute makeover show. Was a grade 8 on Clarinet, grade 2 on sax and grade 4 on piano. My original stage name was Tetrisleg (given to me by our original singer paul)I have now adopted Johnny Nero in respect of Jake Berriman (who is leaving us to go back to Cornwall)
I never set out to be the bassplayer, I was on keyboards but we could not find a bassplayer at the time,
after too many let downs, I adopted the roll as bassman (never played anything like it in my life!)
It was a long road with blistered fingers but have now got to the stage where I would not want to be playing anything else!!! Plus am pretty bloody good at it!
Oh and I sing backing vocals!
